Tamba ware is a tradition that has continued for 800 years in Hyogo Prefecture. This series, from Shoyogama kiln, is characterized by its subdued matte texture, achieved after years of research, and the rich, earthy charm unique to pottery.
Just by placing it, it exudes a quiet presence that tightens the space. The true pleasure of Tamba ware is enjoying how it becomes more familiar with use and how its color deepens over time.
The 16cm and 19cm sizes are the most versatile "supporting actors" for Japanese dining tables. From breakfast yogurt to side dishes for dinner, they gently enhance any food's color without clashing. Even when you collect a set for the whole family, they don't feel overwhelming, and they look beautiful even when stacked. We were drawn to this level of perfection as a "tool" and selected them.
Versatile Size Perfect for individual side dishes (blanched greens, simmered dishes), salads, fruits, or as a small serving bowl. With just the right depth, it's a household essential that can safely hold dishes with liquid.
Unique Texture A moist, matte feel. It absorbs light, making the colors of your food stand out. The inclusive color scheme particularly complements warm, steaming dishes.
One-of-a-kind Individuality Made by hand from Tamba clay, each piece has subtle variations in the shades of chestnut brown due to differences in firing and glaze application. This is proof of its unique, once-in-a-lifetime nature.

Due to the nature of the matte glaze, strong rubbing with metal cutlery may leave marks, but these can be reduced by washing or wiping.
Soaking in water before initial use can help prevent oils and colors from food from permeating the surface.
After use, dry thoroughly before storing.
When combined with other colors from the same series, the complementary colors make each other stand out even more vividly. Enjoy a colorful table setting to match the season or your mood.
