Tamba ware is pottery passed down mainly in Tanba-Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture. Mr. Tetsuji Ichino of Ichino Satoru Kiln is an artist who graduated from the Department of Ceramics at Saga Junior College of Art and is active as an official member of the Japan Crafts Association. He expresses geometric and smooth lines using his unique technique called "colored line inlay," where he carves patterns freehand and embeds colored clay. He has achieved numerous accomplishments, including selection for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and the Hyogo Prefectural Art Encouragement Award.
