Tamba artistry and contemporary design that fits perfectly in your palm.

Tamba ware is said to have originated under the influence of Tokoname ware from the late Heian period to the early Kamakura period, and is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns (certified as a Japan Heritage site). Taro Ichino of Genemon Kiln is an artist who has been making pottery for two generations in Tamba Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture. While preserving traditional Tamba ware, he excels in modern and charming designs such as polka dots, stripes, and checkerboard patterns, proposing "a life with vessels."

■ Maison Toji's Selection Point

Since it's a rice bowl used daily, we offer modern, timeless designs. With three distinct patterns—Stripe, Puzzle, and Ichimatsu (checkerboard)—you can enjoy choosing one to match your mood or table setting. This is a piece that combines tradition with contemporary sensibility, perfect for accompanying your daily meals.

■ Product Features

A rice bowl of a user-friendly size that fits comfortably in your hand. Each piece is hand-painted, so there are individual differences in the expression of lines and the appearance of patterns, allowing you to enjoy a unique look even within the same pattern.

It's not only suitable as a rice bowl but also recommended for soups, stews, or as a small donburi (rice bowl dish). If you collect different patterns, they can serve as dedicated rice bowls for each family member.
