■ PROFILE

Asanogama: Mayuko Ichino
Tanba Ware is a form of pottery with over 800 years of history, centered in Tamba-Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture. Mayuko Ichino, who runs Asanogama, established her own kiln after learning pottery at her family’s Shozo Kiln. Her signature style, representative of a younger generation, involves adding charming expressions of dots and flowers to the rustic soil of Tanba.
