■ PROFILE

Asanogama - Mayuko Ichino
Tanba ware is a form of pottery with over 800 years of history, preserved primarily in Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture. After learning the craft at her family’s Shozo Kiln, Mayuko Ichino struck out on her own to establish Asanogama. Her style reflects a younger generation’s sensibility, layering charming motifs like dots and flowers over the rustic earthiness of Tanba clay.

■ Recommended Pairings

By collecting pieces from the same kiln, you can create a charming and cohesive table setting.
