■ PROFILE
Asano-gama: Mayuko Ichino
Tanba Ware is a type of pottery with over 800 years of history, passed down primarily in the Tamba-Sasayama area of Hyogo Prefecture. Mayuko Ichino, who presides over Asano-gama, studied pottery at her family’s Shozo-gama before opening her own studio, Asano-gama. Her style, typical of the younger generation, combines rustic Tamba clay with adorable motifs like dots and flowers.
■ Recommended combinations
By collecting pieces from the same kiln, you can create a unified and lovely table setting.
