■ PROFILE

Asano-gama: Mayuko Ichino
Tanba ware is a form of pottery with over 800 years of history, passed down primarily in the Tanba-Sasayama area of Hyogo Prefecture. Mayuko Ichino, who runs Asano-gama, established her kiln after learning the craft at her family’s pottery, Shozo-gama. Her style, characteristic of the younger generation, blends the rustic earth of Tanba with lovely, playful designs featuring dots and flowers.

■ Recommended Combinations

By combining pieces from the same kiln, you can create a cohesive and charming table setting.
