Tamba ware is pottery passed down primarily in Tamba-Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture. Naosaku Shogen, who presides over Jikisaku Kiln, is an artist who cherishes Tamba's traditional techniques while pursuing shapes and sizes that fit modern life. His characteristic style is creating vessels that feel warm despite their dignified appearance, naturally blending into daily life.
The lower half utilizes the unglazed, high-fired clay, while the upper half is generously coated with a cool celadon glaze. These two distinct expressions harmonize within a single vessel.
The large, rounded silhouette creates a striking presence.
At 13cm tall, this voluminous size can firmly hold larger floral materials like branches. It's perfect as a centerpiece for your entryway or display shelf.
