The white of the rice shines beautifully. A "Bizen ware" rice bowl by Jun Takagi, exuding the vitality of the earth.

Bizen ware, one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, is a proud craft of Okayama Prefecture. Each rice bowl, meticulously shaped by artist Jun Takagi, is characterized by its strong yet warm texture, achieved by firing without the use of any glazes.

■ Maison Toji's Selection Point

Maison Toji selected this rice bowl for its "substantial feel that fits comfortably in the hand" and the "contrast that makes rice look delicious." The generous size of approximately 13cm is perfect for a man's hand and ideal for serving a plentiful amount of freshly cooked rice. We chose it because we believe the reddish-brown and gray hues unique to Bizen ware further highlight the whiteness of white rice, transforming everyday meals into a more luxurious experience.
