The warmth of the earth makes soup even more delicious. A Bizen ware soup cup that fits comfortably in your hand.

Bizen ware, one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, is born from the rich soil and fire of Okayama Prefecture. This soup cup, created by artist Jun Takagi, is a superb fusion of the rustic texture unique to unglazed, high-fired ceramics and modern design.

01. The joy of nurturing, as it gains luster with use

This soup cup has the pleasant, rough texture characteristic of Bizen ware. The real pleasure of Bizen ware is how its surface becomes smoother and develops a calm luster the more it is used. The unique patterns created by earth and fire mean no two pieces are ever the same.

02. A modern form that blends with both Japanese and Western styles

While employing traditional techniques, its form is modern, fitting contemporary lifestyles. It is perfect for hearty soups, and also versatile as a cereal bowl or cafe au lait bowl.

03. A highly practical cup with excellent heat retention

Bizen ware boasts excellent heat retention, a practical advantage that allows you to enjoy warm soup deliciously to the last drop. It enriches your morning drink or evening meal.
