Tamba ware is pottery with a history of more than 800 years, passed down through generations in and around Tamba-Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture. Mayuko Ichino, who runs Asanogama, studied pottery-making at her family’s Shozogama kiln before going independent and opening her own kiln. Her style has a youthful charm, layering sweet motifs like dots and flowers over the rustic clay of Tamba.
