A generously sized rimmed plate, its edge accented with colorful lines.

Tamba ware is pottery made in and around Tamba-Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture, where the tradition has been passed down for generations. Tetsuji Ichino of Ichino Satoru Kiln carves patterns freehand and inlays colored clay using his distinctive technique, “colored line inlay”. His work features smooth, geometric lines, and his many achievements include being selected for the Japan Traditional Kōgei Exhibition and receiving the Hyogo Prefecture Arts Encouragement Award.

Blue, pink, and gray triangles add a quiet rhythm to the edge. The delicate, warm expression is a hallmark of line inlay carved freehand.

The center is brown, showcasing the natural color of the clay. It beautifully sets off main dishes such as meat, as well as colorful salads.
