■ PROFILE

Asanogama — Mayuko Ichino
Tamba ware is a ceramic tradition with a history of over 800 years, rooted in the area around Tamba-Sasayama City in Hyogo Prefecture. After studying pottery at her family’s Shozogama kiln, Mayuko Ichino, founder of Asanogama, went on to establish her own kiln. Her style has the fresh charm of a younger generation, combining the rustic character of Tamba clay with sweet dotted and floral details.

■ Recommended Pairings

Pairing pieces from the same kiln creates a charming table setting with a cohesive look.
