A flower vase with two distinct looks: natural clay body and celadon glaze.
Tamba ware is pottery made in and around Tamba-Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture, where the tradition has been passed down through generations. Naosaku Shogen, who runs Naosaku Kiln, is an artist who values Tamba’s traditional techniques while pursuing shapes and sizes suited to modern life. His pieces combine a dignified look with a touch of warmth, making them feel right at home in everyday settings.
01. A striking contrast between the clay body and celadon glaze
The lower half showcases the unglazed clay body, while the upper half is generously coated in cool, refreshing celadon glaze. These two distinct looks come together in harmony in a single piece.
02. A softly rounded form
Its generously sized, rounded silhouette creates a striking presence.
03. A generously proportioned size with plenty of presence
At 13 cm tall, this substantial vase can easily hold larger stems and branches. It makes a perfect centerpiece for an entryway or display shelf.
