Mug (M) | Naosaku Kiln

A refreshing medium-sized mug with blending blue and white.

Tamba ware is pottery that has been passed down mainly in Tanba-Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture. Naosaku Shogen, who presides over Jikisaku Kiln, is an artist who, while cherishing Tamba's traditional techniques, pursues shapes and sizes that fit modern life. His forte is creating vessels that feel warm amidst their dignified appearance, naturally blending into daily life.

01. A refreshing scene with bleeding ocean blue

It features a glaze pattern that transitions from a deep blue at the rim to a soft white on the lower half. The vertically flowing glaze pools add a natural expression to the vessel.

02. A rounded handle that fits comfortably in the hand

The large handle is shaped to allow a firm grip with your fingers, making it a mug that is easy to use for daily meals.

03. Just right, medium size

With a size of 10cm (width) x 8cm (height), this medium-sized mug has just the right capacity for daily use, such as for coffee or tea.

■ For long-lasting use

• Soaking in water before first use helps prevent dirt and color transfer.
• After use, dry thoroughly before storing.

■ Recommended combinations

By matching pieces from the same kiln, you can create a cohesive Japanese aesthetic.
