Pendant Light | Mino Ware | Daikichi Kiln | Blue, Green & Gold | Upcycled | Soiro

It was once an “ashtray.”
Now, it shines a new light on time.

Blue and green lines on white, accented with a single gold stroke.

This petite pendant light is a reimagining of an ashtray from Daikichi Kiln, known for its Mino ware. Pale blue and green lines stand out against its clean, linear form, giving it a light, airy look that brings Scandinavian tableware to mind. The understated gold accents on the white surface add a subtle touch, allowing it to blend seamlessly into both Japanese- and Western-style interiors. At just 13 cm wide, it’s a compact size that works especially well hung in multiples above a kitchen counter or along a hallway.

[Upcycled Lighting] soiro | New Light from Fragments of Tradition

Beauty that was destined to be discarded, transformed into light for everyday life.

soiro is an upcycled lighting brand that gives new life to ceramic pieces that, despite their origins in regions with long histories of craftsmanship, never made it into finished products, as well as materials that have served their original purpose.

The brand name comes from the Japanese words for “the color of a material” and “a complementary color.” While preserving the textures of materials shaped by traditional techniques, soiro reimagines them as minimalist lighting that fits naturally into modern life. This is more than simple “recycling”—it reflects respect for materials and a new aesthetic.
