■ PROFILE
Asanogama | Mayuko Ichino
Tanba-yaki is a type of pottery with over 800 years of history, centered in Tanbasasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture. Mayuko Ichino, who leads Asanogama, studied pottery at her family’s Shozo-gama kiln before launching her own studio. Her style, typical of a new generation, incorporates charming dots and floral motifs onto the rustic Tanba clay.
■ Recommended Pairings
