■ PROFILE
Asanogama - Mayuko Ichino
Tanba-yaki is a pottery tradition with over 800 years of history, preserved primarily in the Tanba-Sasayama area of Hyogo Prefecture. Mayuko Ichino, who leads Asanogama, studied pottery at her family’s Shozo Kiln before establishing her own studio, Asanogama. Her signature style, characteristic of the younger generation, overlays adorable expressions of dots and flowers onto the rustic clay of Tanba.
■ Recommended Pairings
By collecting works from the same kiln, you can create a unified and charming dining table.
