■ PROFILE

Asano-gama: Mayuko Ichino
Tanba ware is a type of pottery with over 800 years of history, preserved primarily in Tanba-Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture. Mayuko Ichino, who leads Asano-gama, established her own kiln after learning pottery at her family’s Shozo-gama. Her signature style, characteristic of a younger generation, layers lovely expressions featuring dots and flowers onto the rustic clay of Tanba.

■ Recommended Pairings

By collecting pieces from the same kiln, you can create a charming and cohesive table setting.
